This is an energetic exploration of how the right rules make everything so much better.

“regs to riches” is a playful meditation on responsible innovation. I don’t tell you what to think, but rather model how to think about the relationship between regulation(s) and economic value. It’s like a citizen’s arrest for the digital economy.

Together, we explore examples of ‘hangover legislation’ - older rules that actually apply pretty well to the digital economy, but we just don’t use them - and look at how modest but meaningful legislative interventions can be a source of policy innovation (I call it “radical incrementalism.”).

The newsletter is for anyone interested in that “one weird trick” that can make Canada that much cooler (and functional). 🇨🇦
